ABOUT KIP CHRISTIANSON

Kip is a seventh-generation Minnesotan, much of his family has been in northern Wright County or Rockford since before 1900. He was raised on a hobby farm along the Mississippi River east of Monticello. Kip’s parents—both nurses who ran their own businesses—raised Kip to understand the value of hard work, integrity, ingenuity, and a dollar well-earned. Kip studied at Monticello Public Schools and spent his weekends and summers hunting, fishing, learning how to live off-grid and self-sufficiently on a northern border lake, and singing in his church choir.

After high school, Kip studied international political economy, earning a degree in Government from Harvard. But Kip never left Minnesota behind. He returned to Monticello after college to work as a business consultant and financial advisor, helping local families and small businesses navigate growth, investment, and cleanup from financial mismanagement. He served as State Deputy Director for President Trump’s 2024 campaign in Minnesota and has worked nationally with coalitions of veterans, gun owners, law enforcement, and sportsmen.

After 20 years of being deeply civically engaged, and in his grandpa Charles’ footsteps of public service, Kip ran and resoundingly won a seat on the Monticello City Council, where he is laser-focused on delivering transparency and common-sense governance, stopping wasteful spending (D.O.G.E.), supporting small business growth, and cutting taxes for residents.

Kip is now running for state office to bring that same principled, conservative leadership to the Minnesota State Capitol. He’s tired of watching out-of-touch metro Democrats ignore the needs of everyday Minnesotans while pushing radical policies that hurt families and businesses and run our state into the ground. In defending life, protecting and strengthening the Second Amendment, standing up for parents’ rights in education, fixing a deeply-broken state, Kip is running to bring hope, a caring heart, courage, conviction, and competence to Minnesota’s state government.

Also, a classically trained Baritone soloist, and barbecue enthusiast, Kip lives in Monticello with his hunting dog Hubert. When he’s not analyzing budgets or reading financials, you’ll find Kip at the Monticello Sportsmen Club shooting clays, tuning up the engine of a hot rod he helped his Dad build, singing for Mass at the Catholic Church of St. Henry, or exploring our state’s parks and trails with his girlfriend, Monica whom he met through their shared devout faith in Jesus Christ.
